Maha Rehman, Managing Partner, Lead Trainer and Consultant
Maha Rehman is a development professional who holds a Masters Degree in NGO Management (with honors) from the London School of Economics, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Political Science (with honors) from Bryn Mawr College USA, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics, Statistics and Persian from Kinnaird College, Pakistan. Ms. Rehman has nine years of diverse, cross-sectoral experience in the non-profit sector as well as the corporate sector. She has worked in Pakistan as well as in Canada. Ms. Rehman has worked with various organizations in the fields of communications, human resource management, human capital development, organisational development, change management, adult training and development, leadership and strategy, public affairs, microfinance, community development, violence-prevention, women�s development, education, training, research and health. She has been involved in developing training material for the Lahore University of Management Sciences and McGill University Social Enterprise Development Programme. Her work has been internationally published in the Journal of NGO Cases (Vol. 1 and 2: Oxford University Press 2005-6) and the Asian Case Management Journal (Vol. 1: 1, Sage Publications: 2004). Her interests cut across the development sector and corporate sectors. Ms. Rehman is currently a trainer and a development management consultant; she conceptualized and co-founded Nur Concepts in 2006, with the aim of providing management consulting, and training services across sectors. She currently oversees Nur Concepts operations in Canada as well as Pakistan. Ms. Rehman has served on the Board of EMCO Industries Ltd, Pakistan�s largest ceramic manufacturing facility and also sits on the Board of the Fatima Memorial Hospital, Lahore, Pakistan. Ms. Rehman is also one of the founders of Nur Foundation, Pakistan. Ms. Rehman is fluent in English, Urdu and Punjabi.
Sara Aslam Malik, Managing Partner, Lead Trainer and Consultant
Sara Aslam Malik is a human resource development and communications professional with an MBA degree from Lahore University of Management Sciences and a training certification from the University of Cambridge. Ms. Malik has over nine years of diverse professional experience primarily with the British Council spanning Pakistan, United Kingdom and Malaysia in a range of managerial and training roles. She has worked extensively in the areas of Training and Education, Management Development, Arts & Culture and Governance for the British Council. She has been a visiting faculty member for the Rausing Executive Development Centre at LUMS since 2006 and is a visiting lecturer for Human Resources courses for MBA students in Pakistan and Malaysia. Ms. Malik is currently based in Malaysia, where clients include Shell, UCB Pharma, KL Stock Exchange, Malaysian Airports, Fuji Xerox and the Ministry of Education. Her main areas of expertise and interest are Performance Management, Professional Development and all aspects of Business Communications with a special focus on Business English. Ms. Malik conceptualized and co-founded Nur Concepts in 2006, with the aim of providing management consulting, and training services across sectors. She currently oversees Nur Concepts operations in Malaysia as well as Pakistan. Aeyesha Gulzar, Lead Trainer and Consultant
Aeyesha Gulzar is a trainer and management consultant with over nine years of diverse experience working and consulting for fortune 500 and global fortune 500 companies in the US and Europe. Ms. Gulzar has majored in MIS (with honors) from the University of Connecticut and has read Strategic Leadership at Yale University. Ms. Gulzar is an experienced manager and facilitator able to lead, motivate and mobilize individuals, teams and organizational change. Her projects have demanded building effective working relationships and coaching senior executives around business change. Her expertise includes organizational training and development, requirements analysis and process engineering, strategic planning, design and change management. She has worked in the US, UK, India and Pakistan. Ms Gulzar is fluent in English, Urdu, Punjabi and Hindko.
Sheherbano Burki, Lead Trainer and Consultant
Sheherbano Burki is a development and management consultant with a diverse professional experience of over eleven years in both the public and private sector. She holds an M.Sc in Economics from Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad Pakistan with specialization in Monetary Policy and Development Economics; and an M.Sc in Development Studies from The School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), London U.K. with concentration in Poverty and Social Analysis, and Trade Policy. Ms. Burki has worked as a consultant for the Asian Development Bank (ADB) on Development projects in Islamabad, Balochistan and Karachi; has developed human resource management systems for public, NGO and private sector clients, including carrying out systems trainings and strategic planning exercises. Her core competencies and interests include social policy research and analysis; Institutional development and HRM systems; and trade policy research. She has worked in Pakistan, U.K., Afghanistan and China. Ms Burki is fluent in English, Urdu, Punjabi and has a functional understanding of Saraiki.
Dr. Aamna Khalid, Lead Trainer and Consultant
Dr. Aamna Khalid holds a PhD in Education & Management from the University of Northern Washington, USA, an M.Sc in ELT Management (with merit) from the University of Surrey, UK and an MA in ELT from Kinnaird College Lahore, Pakistan. At present she is a Training Consultant at LUMS & Beaconhouse National University. Dr. Aamna Khalid has extensive professional experience of 8 years as a Teacher Trainer & English Language Development Consultant at prestigious institutions such as Kinnaird College Lahore, The British Council Lahore, University of Central Punjab, The Educators, and the Civil Services Academy of Pakistan, to name a few. Her area of expertise is, the training of English Language teachers, teaching of Communication Skills, Business Communication, IELTS & SAT language development courses. Dr. Aamna Khalid is the author of �English Language Teachers Resource Book�? �Effective Communication through Writing�?and �Performance Management: an evaluation of the appraisal systems of Pakistani institutions of higher learning�? to be launched in January 2009. Farah Sheikh-Hamid, Lead Trainer and Consultant
Farah Sheikh-Hamid, is a trainer, management consultant and project manager with over eight years of experience working in the non-profit and the private sector. Ms. Sheikh has an MPhil in Development Studies from University of Cambridge (United Kingdom), and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the Quaid-i-Azam University (Pakistan.) She is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). Currently based in Toronto, Canada, Ms. Sheikh currently works for Ernst & Young in project management in the Assurance and Advisory Business Services. Ms. Sheikh-Hamid also possesses extensive experience in managing gender and governance projects for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and has consulted with UNESCO and the DFID (Department of International Development, UK). Her core skills and interests include strategic planning; project implementation and monitoring; social policy research and analysis. Ms. Sheikh-Hamid is fluent in English, Urdu and Punjabi.
Rabeea Khan, Lead Trainer and Consultant
Rabeea Khan has diverse experience of eight years in the corporate sector as a certified Trainer and Customer Care expert. Ms. Khan has done her Masters in Public Administration with majors in Human Resource Management, as well as a diploma in Strategic Human Resource Management and Planning along with Train the Trainer certification from UAE. She has conducted different seminars and workshops in several academic and management training sessions in both public and private sector. She is also involved in capacity building of the youth and teaches Organizational Behaviour and Management as a visiting faculty in various universities and colleges. Salem Rehman, Lead Trainer and Consultant
Salem Rehman is an engineer and entrepreneur who has diverse corporate and personal experience in various fields across three continents. Mr. Rehman presently heads two production facilities at EMCO Industries Ltd., Pakistan (Pakistan�s largest ceramic manufacturing facility), and is also on the advisory panel for Amaana LLC, Pakistan�s first peer to peer payment system. Prior to this, he has worked in operational management and R&D roles at Applied Materials Inc., USA (NASDAQ: AMAT) for a number of years. Mr. Rehman holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University (Indiana, USA) and an MBA from INSEAD (France/Singapore). His training interests cut across the business, engineering, information technology and development sectors. Mr Rehman is fluent in English, Urdu and Punjabi.
Humair Yusuf, Lead Trainer and Consultant
Humair Yusuf is an entrepreneur as well as a psychologist with diverse business management, teaching, counseling and facilitation experience. He currently heads a marketing and a distribution company working in the retail trade industry (Apex Marketing Services) and is extensively involved in supply chain management of products of FMCG companies. Mr. Yusuf is also actively involved in an advisory capacity with various non-profit organizations. Mr. Yusuf holds triple Bachelors of Science degrees in Bio Mechanical Engineering, Linguistics and Philosophy, Film and Media Studies with a Minor in Cognitive Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA and a Masters degree in Languages and Literature from Boston University, USA. He has been extensively involved in teaching and training at the Institute of Business Administration, Karachi as well as the International School, Karachi. He is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology at the University of Toronto, Canada. Mr Yusuf is fluent in English and Urdu.
Naintara Sarfraz Raja, Lead Trainer and Consultant
Naintara Sarfraz Raja is a management professional who holds degrees from the University of Birmingham, UK, Quaid-e-Azam Universitry, Islamabad, Pakistan and Kinnaird College, Lahore, Pakistan. Ms. Raja has twenty years of diverse cross sectoral experience in corporate, public and non profit sectors. Dr. Ayisha Qureshi, Lead Trainer and Consultant
Dr. Ayisha Qureshi holds a medicine degree from Punjab University and has completed her Masters in Philosophy (MPhil) in Reproductive Physiology from Quaid-e-Azam University, Pakistan. She is registered with Pakistan Medical and Dental Council, Pakistan and at present is working as an Assistant Professor in Islamabad Medical & Dental College. Her areas of expertise are reproductive health, infertility and women related issues in which she has done extensive research on the role of assisted reproductive techniques in infertility. She is an experienced facilitator and has conceptualized and facilitated various workshops on communication and presentation skills. Dr. Ayisha Qureshi has special interest in research especially in medical education and reproductive health and writing. She has worked on both the clinical and the academic medicine side. Mansoor Jamal Butt, Lead Trainer and Consultant
Mansoor Jamal Butt is a certified Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants Pakistan. He brings with him ten years of diverse experience of working as internal auditor to Chief Financial Officer for a major ceramics company, locally and internationally. Mr. Butt has extensive experience in the public as well as the private sectors, with major areas of interest and expertise including financial operations, analysis, and strategic planning. Asma Farooq has nine years of diverse professional experience in the fields of marketing and business development. Ms. Farooq holds an MBA in Marketing and Finance from LUMS and an M.Sc degree in Media and Communication from London School of Economics. Kiran Pervaiz, Associate Trainer and Consultant
Kiran Pervaiz is a Human Resource professional with diverse experience at Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and Abudawood Trading Company (ATCO), as an HR Generalist, in various human resource functions, including recruitment, organizational change and development, policies and procedures, strategic human resource management, employee relations, grievance handling, career planning, succession planning and compensation and benefits and also as an HR Specialist in the mainstream area of Performance Management. Equipped with MBA Degree in Human Resource Management from the College of Business Management, Karachi, Ms. Pervaiz was awarded the 'Going an Extra Mile Award' and an appreciation certificate by the management of Pakistan International Airlines for her exceptional performance. Huma Yusuf, Visiting Trainer and Consultant
Huma Yusuf graduated from Harvard University in 2002 and has a Masters degree in English and American Literature, and returned to Pakistan to work as a journalist. She specializes in writing about social trends as represented in media and media and society issues. Her writing garnered the UNESCO/Pakistan Press Foundation 'Gender in Journalism 2005' Award and the European Commission's 2006 Natali Lorenzo Prize for Human Rights Journalism. Ms. Yusuf�s interests cut across the interface among media, local politics and global trends. With the support of the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, she is currently launching a first-of-its-kind webzine, the goal of which is to provide an alternate forum where journalists, academics, and media students can examine and critique the Pakistani media industry at large. Ms. Yusuf has recently completed a Masters Degree in Comparative Media Studies at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA and is a visiting trainer at Nur Concepts. Maleeha Metla, Visiting Trainer and Consultant
Maleeha Metla has over nine years of professional experience in the field of finance focusing on capital markets. Ms. Metla holds a degree from Smith College in Economics. Prior to Smith, she spent time at Kinnaird College studying Economics and English Literature. She has spent her career in New York City working as an Equity Capital Markets professional at different Investment Banks. Ms. Metla�s experience has focused on advising clients on equity products, from origination to execution. Ms. Metla has worked as a generalist with clients in the health care, technology and consumer sectors through the process of going public and secondary offerings. Kiran Afzal, Visiting Trainer and Consultant
Kiran Afzal is an SME expert in the development sector. Her educational background includes an MBA in finance from Bahria Institute of Management and Computer Sciences, Islamabad and M.Sc in Social Policy and Planning in Developing countries from London School of Economics. Prior to joining Nur Concepts in Pakistan, she was a lecturer at the University of Pennsylvania, an Ivy League institution in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Manail�s corporate experience includes marketing, recruitment, project management and business development for a major US financial services firm with deputations in Philadelphia and London. She also has experience in cultivating funding, managing donor relations, marketing, recruitment and business development for corporations as well as non-profit organizations and educational institutions in the US, UK and Pakistan. Zeeshan Zahoor Khawaja, Visiting Trainer and Consultant
